I blew a tire on the way to school this morning. Thankfully, I was only a couple of minutes away from my Mom and Dad’s bowling alley so my Dad was able to pick me up. The later Ben went and got it fixed. While I was driving I thought I heard something flapping but I didn’t think much of it until it finally went flat and my whole car started to shake. I was proud of myself for not freaking out or anything and the kids stayed calm too. I missed school because of it which sucks. My professor was so nice about it. She is letting me come in later in the week to take the test and is e-mailing me the lecture notes. It just sucks though because missing one class is like missing two weeks because we only meet every other Saturday. Hopefully, it won’t throw me off too much and at least I missed for a good reason.
Voting record of U.S. Senate on S.3 Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003
I’m curious as to why Biden, Edwards and Kerry didn’t vote. Hmmm….Does it have anything to do with their upcoming presidential bids?
I would like to call your attention to this blog entry “The Three Faces of Dubya.” So funny…so true!!!
This is from Norm Coleman’s senate bio:
“Coleman was the Republican nominee for governor in Minnesota in 1998. He defeated the Democrat-Farm-Labor candidate, Hubert H. Humphrey III, before narrowly losing to Jesse Ventura by two percent of the vote.”
If you lost, how did you defeat the DFL candidate? Must be that fuzzy math stuff.
Urgent Message From NOW:
Action Needed:
We have just received word that the Senate will be voting this Monday, March 10 on the so-called Partial-Birth Abortion Ban bill, S. 3, sponsored by arch abortion rights opponent Senator Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) and 43 co-sponsors.
Please make a phone call to both of your senators or send them an email message. This legislation would ban most abortion procedures at any time during pregnancy

Hello Sister Club,
I just wanted to let you know that KS95 is doing their KS95 for Kids
Marathon this weekend. In honor of Jaycie, Max and Cade I donated $15 a
month for the next year (that’s $5 a month for each kid). The money goes
right to places like Gillette’s Childrens Hospital and the Children’s Cancer
Research Fund. I know right now you all probably can’t afford to donate $15
a month, but even if you just donate $15 once it’ll help.
You can find out more information and donate online here:

A message from NOW:
Please take a few minutes to help keep the issue of ENDING violence against women at the top of our nation’s policy agenda. This week we need to speak out against Attorney General John Ashcroft’s efforts to weaken the status and the mission of the Office on Violence Against Women.
In flagrant opposition to Congressional intent, Ashcroft’s Department of Justice recently announced that it intends to keep the Office on Violence Against Women as a subdivision within a subcomponent of the Department. According to the administration’s plan, the Office on Violence Against Women will remain in the Office of Justice Programs, where it will be subject to restructuring that will further weaken its mission and purpose. Please ask your Senators and House member to call upon Attorney General Ashcroft to implement the Office on Violence Against Women as a separate and distinct office within “main” Justice as required by law. Send an e-mail to your Senators and House member today.
Dear friend,
I’m hoping you can join me on an emergency petition from
citizens around the world to the U.N. Security Council. The
petition’s going to be delivered to the 15 member states of
the Security Council on THURSDAY, MARCH 6.
If hundreds of thousands of us sign, it could be an enormously
important and powerful message — people from all over the
world joining in a single call for a peaceful solution. But
we really need everyone who agrees to sign up today. You can
do so easily and quickly at:

The stakes couldn’t really be much higher. A war with Iraq
could kill tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians and inflame
the Middle East. According to current plans, it would require
an American occupation of the country for years to come. And
it could escalate in ways that are horrifying to imagine.
We can stop this tragedy from unfolding. But we need to speak
together, and we need to do so now. Let’s show the Security
Council what world citizens think.
Thank you,
Oh what a weekend! Friday-I bought Dixie Chicks tickets in advance to guarantee we would get them but I could only buy 4 and we needed 5. So my sisters had to fight over who couldn’t go. I think the decison has been made but we’ll see. Saturday-Registration for Spring Tri started at 7:30 AM but I decided to be lazy and went at 11:30 AM which caused me not to get one of my first choices. Then on my way home from class on Sunday, Ben called and said the furnace went out. It cost us $500 to get it fixed. Thankfully we had the money but there goes any chance of us taking a trip this Spring. Oh well, we probably wouldn’t have had the time anyway.
