Hope every one’s Thanksgiving went well. Ours was awesome. On Thursday, I had everyone over for dinner at my house. We ate a huge meal then settled in for some Trivial Pursuit. Ben won and now thinks he is king so I am sure there will be a rematch at Christmas. On Saturday night, we had a little gathering with a few of my cousins at the bowling alley. We did a potluck dinner and then bowled. I kicked some ass and brought home the trophy!!! I know I had a little advantage because I normally bowl there and my Dad owns the place, but still I won!!! Today, it’s all about recovering from our food hangovers!! Two days around so much food is too much!!! Yuck! I feel like I have gained 20 pounds!!!
1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not?
Yes! I love everything about shopping bargain hunting, finding the perfect thing, the people, money, everything!!!
2. What was the last thing you purchased?Christmas gifts for Jodi and Kelli.
3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why? I like both but because of shipping costs I end up going to the actual store. Plus, it’s easier to buy clothes at an actual store then online because sometimes the pictures are way off of how the clothes acutally look.
4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it? No, my parents tried but for some reason it never really worked out.
5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing? A couple of text books for school that weren’t really needed.
Yesterday, I had an interesting political/social justice talk with my Mom. We were talking about the death penalty and whether we believe it is right or not, which brought us to the subject crime. For some reason, my Mom thinks that the U.S. is too lenient on crime and that all the other countries are very strict. I told her that’s not true. The U.S. has been upping the punishment for crimes for awhile now and the result hasn’t really decreased the amount of crimes committed. I said that crime is a social problem that we try to take care of in the wrong way. I said the system here punishes rather than tries to rehabilitates or even prevent crime. But she still thinks that we aren’t tough enough on crime. I told her to watch Bowling for Columbine and that might answer some of her questions as to why our society is the way it is. We also talked about immigrants. Now, don’t get me wrong my Mom is very liberal just sometime undereducated on issues. She tends to believe every myth out there until it is debunked for her. She really believes that people who immigrate to this country get handed the American Dream. She thinks s they get all these breaks and are able to just have the best life ever while our own people are starving. I told her that’s not true. Immigrants receive very little help when they come into this country. I don’t think she believed me. It’s strange for me to think that she thinks it is so easy for immigrants when in reality it’s not. I hate that she thinks things like that, but all I can do is slowly work on showing her the truth.
I suck at updating this site!
I am busy with school and my internship. Both are going well, but I had to give up hopes for making the Dean’s list because my History class sucks. I wrote the best paper of my life and got only a B+. I hate B+’s- either give the A or give it a B. None of this + crap. The reason why I am so pissed is because she hardly marked anything off on the paper so I don’t know how she justifies the B+ when she shredded this other woman’s paper and gave her a B. So I don’t think I will manage to squeak out an A in that class thus, no Dean’s list for me. It pisses me off but then I realize that I have to just let it go and be happy with a B. Damn that is hard!
I’m all registered for classes for next term. I am taking 14 credits at CSC and then 6 credits at a community college. Two of the credits at the community college are PE classes and the other 4 is one Literature class which I get to take online. By the time June rolls around, I will have completed both my sophomore and junior years having taken over 50 credits this year.
My internship is going well. I haven’t done a whole lot yet but I should be doing more in December. Right now, I am focusing on researching and learning more about Domestic Violence and Child Witnesses to Family Violence. Interesting, but also really sad.
Everything else seems to be going well. I am anxiously waiting the start of the holiday season. I can’t wait to get my Christmas stuff up. I also have most of my Christmas cards ready to send. I’m crazy I know….
So the Democrats are trying to figure out how to win in 2004. Here’s the secret:
STOP TRYING TO WIN REPUBLICAN VOTES!!! Some of the candidates are quite transparent in there push to appeal to particular groups.
See, they know that Liberals are going to vote for anyone but Bush. So the sad truth is that they aren’t even campaigning to win our vote. But in the process of trying to look more moderate to conservative voters, they are losing my respect! See I hold every candidate up to the Wellstone Meter! And sadly for me, most of the candidates out there don’t even rate. I won’t sell my beliefs and values short like I have in the last few elections. If Bush gets re-elected there is always Canada!!!
Ugh! It’s snowing! I hate snow! I hate the thought of winter! Every year I want to run screaming from MN when it starts to snow. The thought of having to look at snow for the next six months sickens me. I need to move to a wamer state!

The biggest lifetime contributor to my campaign, who is also one of
