I got a sucky rejection letter for the position I interviewed for a couple of weeks ago. I hate rejection letters. Especially when they are formatted in a way that makes them seem so impersonal. Yuck! I’m not upset about not getting the job though. I have enough on my plate without having to add the extra hours of another position. The exeperience would have been great but there will be other opportunities. So, now I am on to bigger and better things!

I’ve managed to get both Jaycie and Max’s bedrooms painted. Ben’s parents bought them new bedrooms sets so I wanted to get all the painting done. His parents brought the furniture over on Sunday, so I am hoping we can get it all put together and in place before the weekend. I have a busy work schedule this week, so I am not sure how much energy I will have. Overall, things are progressing nicely. We’ve been in the new house for a month and it’s starting to feel like home.

Well….I better get back to my homework!

Things are starting to get back to a routine around here. I started back at school two weeks ago. My classes are fairly easy, except for my theology class. Ben and I have decided that I am not wired to think that way. I just don’t get the whole other dimension or heaven stuff, so I am having a hard time with the class. At least I only have to take one theology class, some schools require two. Yuck!

I interviewed for a real job last week. The position is a contract position to be a PAC coordinator. The interview went well, but I am not sure I have enough experience, but I’ll have to wait and see. It was good to get the experience interviewing. I was well prepared so I wasn’t nervous or anything which is always a plus. They did ask me about my position on the separation of church and state, which I found to be odd. I should hear something this week because with the election fast approaching I am sure they will want someone to start soon.

Everything else is going well. I am so excited to be graduating in May!!! Now, I have to seriously start looking at Grad schools…

We are finally all moved into the new house!

The move from Hutch was tough. I tried to be all prepared and get all the boxes and matresses outside before the truck came, then it rained. Not a sprinkle, but sheets of rain for fifteen mintues. Needless to say, every box was soaked. I managed to get all the mattresses in before they were too soaked. When the boys got home with truck, we had to pack it full of soggy boxes. We stuffed everything in my sisters garage. So, for an entire month I was anxious to see if anything got ruined by the water.

So, we closed on the new house last Friday. We had tons of help, which was nice because we have tons of crap and tons of stairs. Once everyone left, I tore into all the boxes. I am happy to report that nothing was ruined by the rain. I have a few broken items, but nothing big. By Sunday, I was pretty much unpacked. I painted the kitchen on Wednesday and Thursday. The walls are so white and our lights are so bright, so I am trying to paint as much as I can before winter. Ben and I both feel like we have been away from civilization for the past 3 years, so it is so nice to be back!!!!

The kids love the new house and their new schools. They started back to school on Tuesday. Jaycie was a little nervous, but she did just fine. Max was a hot shot and pretty much didn’t want anything to do with me. I tried to go over the expectations and stuff like that and all he would say is “I know Mom! I have done this before!”

I’ve also started my senior field placement. I really like it. I have basically been shadowing people for the past two weeks. In the upcoming weeks, I will get my own clients and I will also be working on voter registration and voter education. I am a little worried about it because I am so liberal and it will be hard to remain non-partisan. I start school next weekend. It will be my final year. I can’t wait to graduate in May and actually get a job. I am not sure if I will ever work full-time, but it will be nice to bring in some extra money. I am also starting to look at Grad schools, but I may put that off for a year because the kids need a break from me being in school.
