So, I’ve figured out that I work for the Wal-Mart of my industry. Yep-anti-union, pro-money, not caring about anything but the bottom line for-profit grossness. It’s crazy. I don’t mind the work, but the company drives me crazy. They have our internet locked up so tight that I have to call Ben to look up resources for me. I mean what’s the point of having internet if you aren’t going to allow it to be the valuable tool it is suppose to be. They’re so freakin’ worried about people surfing the net that it actually inhibits my job and infringes on Ben’s time. Thank goodness Ben works for a decent company that will allow him full internet access. Internet access aside, there are other things that irritate me enough about the job that I’m looking for a way out. I’m thinking grad school will be a wonderful excuse for having to quit. I register Monday and I can’t wait!

Happy 30th Birthday Ben!!!!!!

Tonight we are going to a “black tie optional” party for his company. I’m nervous because I hate dressing up, but it should mostly be okay because I know a lot of the people he works with. Hopefully, he will enjoy himself since it is his birthday!!! At the very least, he will enjoy seeing me all dressed up like a girl!

I knew that I was missing school and the intellectual stimulation, but I didn’t realize HOW much until Tiff and I engaged in an interesting e-mail conversation about multiethnic adoption and placement strategies. I got the e-mail later in the night so dashed off a response and then went to bed with such a glow that Ben laughed at me. I was pumped for the great discussion and debate. I got high off having to think about something. Ahhh…only two more months left then I’ll be back to researching and writing. I can’t wait!!!
