In the mail today, I got a $10 gift certificate to Panera from JACK FM.  It was totally unexpected. What a wonderful surprise from a radio station I hardly ever listen to, but I will make it a point to listen a little more now.

Do you like surprises?

Instinctively, I wanted to say that I don't like surprises, but after I thought about it I do love surprises. I love them for myself and I love surprising others. I think that is why I love Christmas so much. I get so excited about all the suspense. All those presents under the tree, taunting us day after day. Ah…I love it.

Dogs
Boots-a puppy that got hit by a car (I think).
Lady- a german shepard we did a horrible job raising so she ended up really mean and had to go to the farm
Brandy-a german shepard we did a better job raising but moved into a tiny townhouse so she didn't have anywhere to run. We surrendered her to the humane society.
I'm not sure if there were anymore dogs.

Cats
Tuffy-we inherited this cat from my Mom's friend for a short time. The friend eventually came back for the cat.
Jasper-my first kitten. Jodi can tell you what happened to him almost 8 years ago.
Oliver-we got him from Pet Smart (humane society) when we first moved to Hutch. He's still with us. He gives me the evil eye all the time because he loves Ben and not me.
Baxter-this is really Kelli's cat but we have been taking care of her for so long that she is our cat too. She is really shy. She rarely comes out of hiding. However, she has a bladder issue that causes her to pee all over my floors. I am currently working with the Vet to solve this problem.
The Judge/Grudge/Big Kitty-We babysat her for Ben's unlce. We were only going to do it for 6 months but it ended up over a year. She was one of the biggest cats I have ever seen. She was super prissy and full of character. She'd smack Nolie when he's walk by and poor Nolie would just look at the cat like "what the hell?"

We also had an assortment of gerbils and hamsters. I don't remember all their names, but I know that most of them met their death after escaping from their cages and starving in our basement.

What's the last thing you usually do or think about before you fall asleep?

I usually read until I am ready to fall directly to sleep. I have to do this in order to shut my brain off so that I don't think before I fall asleep. If I don't read, I will run over everything that happened during the day, what will happen tomorrow and then next day. Then I will make lists of all the things I need to do. Then I will remember all the things I have forgotten like the MA application I forgot to submit for a client when I worked 5 months ago. I'm the type that can't shut off my brain, so I have to read until my mind shuts off on its own.

What TV show(s) will you be watching this season? Why?

I'm like Tracy. I end up DVRing most of my shows because I'm just not around at night to watch TV. I'm not sure where I am or what I am doing though. 

The Amazing Race-This is what I call good reality tv. It's not a whole lot of drama. The traveling and tasks are so interesting.

Football-We watch football all Sunday and then on Monday night.

How I Met Your Mother-I love this show.

Class-I'm not sure about this one yet, but it's scheduled to record for now.

Scrubs-I'm a late-comer for this show. Everyone has been watching for awhile but I just started within the last year.

My Name is Earl-Jason Lee rules.

The Office-I just started recording this one. Last year, I would catch it when it was on but I never recorded it.

King of Queens-I love this show. Ben and I are so much like Doug and Carrie.

Dr. Phil-I only record the Monday episodes for the Dr. Phil house. Otherwise, I tune in selectively.

The View-I record it because I love Rosie. I watch it if I have time otherwise I just delete.

So, here's my Monday. I was almost to my internship when I blew my back passenger side tire. This is the second tire I have blown since I bought the car a year ago. I don't know if they tires are just crappy or if I run over a lot of things. I've never seen a tire that actually looked like this one. Ben can't figure out what happened to it, but it looks like it blew up from the inside or something. It's all rippled around the rim and there a a bunch of holes like the one in the picture. I don't remember hitting anything. But when it happened I was going about 60 mph. There was a ton of smoke and the smell of burnt rubber. Yikes. I pulled off onto the shoulder and had to wait for Ben to rescue me. Two police officers stopped to see if I needed assistance which I thought was nice. So, after about 45 minutes, Ben has me back up and running. I continued on my way to my internship. I get there and there is NO PARKING available. I am not one to had adversity well, so I said screw it, called my supervisor, and went home where I am safe and sound. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Is there a friend who you owe a phonecall or email? What's stopping you?

Yes, my friend Sarah. I should email her but I can't go to her wedding and I know she is going to be pissed, so that's what's stopping me. I'll have to face her sooner or later, but for now I'd rather wait for later.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

If I have to work (outside the home for pay), I like to get up early to go to work and be home early. Otherwise, I am typically a night owl because I feel I do my best thinking at night.
